First, do they have a financial power of attorney and health care power of attorney? If they do, that may give you some guidance on how you might be able to assist them. If they do not, you want to look to are they doing things that are putting them at a financial risk or harm or for their personal safety? Is that at risk of harm? And if that's the case, then you may need to file a guardianship.
